Collection: Bethany Hadden

Bethany's work is an exploration of material, texture and trials. She use acrylics on mainly wood whether it be recycled building materials, wood cabinet doors or drawers or other porous surfaces. It’s not just the painting and creating part she enjoys, but the process to get there such as the cutting, sanding and prepping material for work. It’s lethargic.

Animals have been portrayed in artwork forever and represent our connection to the world. Bethany is drawn to their character, peacefulness and resilience when we are constantly surrounded by noise and clutter. She wants to portray each animal in a moment or state of just being.

The idea of the outcome and possibilities or each piece being endless intrigues me and pushes her desire to move forward. Bethany chooses an animal or a subject and just works around that idea in a spontaneous way.
